Atletico Madrid travel to Lisbon for the
second leg of their Europa League clash against Sporting CP, hoping to
build on a 2-0 win earned in the first and make their way to the
semi-finals at Estadio Jose Alvalade. They’ve had more troubles at the
back on the road recently, though, and we could be in for a more
interesting matchup this time around.
Atleti come into the match on the back of
a 1-1 draw at city rivals Real Madrid, extending a three-match unbeaten
streak across competitions since the 2-1 loss at Villarreal midway
through March. Diego Simeone’s men thus come off very confident and can
be backed to win on the day too at 5/6 with Ladbrokes.
However, Sporting have been a much more
challenging side in front of the home crowd through most part of the
campaign and we’ve seen 15 wins in their last 16 outings here, with just
a single draw (3-3 against Astana) in the process. They’ve been
regularly scoring numbers of goals and were very tough to outgun despite
much more struggles for similar consistency on the road.
Leoes don’t seem to have the same depth
in quality, though, and it will be tough to make up for the 2-0 loss
suffered in Madrid. Nonetheless, they have to go all-out for the win
with nothing to lose and this does promise an exciting matchup despite
many claiming Atleti to keep a clean sheet at Evens with BetVictor.
